Air quality upgrade

MEP was tasked with upgrading the air quality within a local food facility. This project aligns perfectly with our team’s passion and expertise, and so we were eager to get started. This significant project involved the installation of a state-of-the-art industrial rooftop HVAC system. Having the right HVAC system is imperative for a food production facility, as air quality and comfort are not only important for the workers but essential for food production as well.

To improve the air quality, a make-up air unit and exhaust system was installed to bring in fresh, clean air into the building and pump out the old stagnant air. This unit, much like its name sounds, is used to ‘make-up’ the air in the building that has been removed by exhaust fans. This unit will help circulate the air in this factory and provide a breath of fresh air for the staff. A newly installed system will also improve overall energy efficiency which translates to lowered energy bills.

The scale of this endeavor was large enough that our team required assistance from a crane and multiple transport trucks to complete this project. After careful planning and execution from our project management team and technicians, we were able to lift the disassembled system onto the roof and lift the old system off. The installation process required precision and expertise to ensure that the HVAC system would meet their extremely high standards to keep the food they produce safe and high quality, adhering to local regulations and standards.

The ductwork that was installed throughout the facility to support the new HVAC system is essential for distributing temperature-controlled air and providing adequate air quality. Our expert sheet metal technicians created a custom design that evenly distributes this air for optimal energy efficiency.

MEP conducted a thorough inspection of the drainage system within the facility using advanced camera technology. The inspection revealed that the existing pipes were severely clogged and in poor condition. To rectify this issue, MEP embarked on a drain replacement project. This involved the removal and replacement of the drain system, as well as the corresponding piping throughout the facility.

These upgrades ensure that the air quality within the facility is of the highest standard, providing a comfortable and safe environment for both employees and the food production process. With a newly upgraded drainage system, we can mitigate any potential issues that could disrupt the production process or cause water damage to the premises.
